Watercolor Cards with punch!

These cards are so pretty and striking!  I used the new papers and brads from the Sale-a-bration flier from Stampin Up!  I just love them.

In this class we will make 6 cards.  Two of three different designs.  I'll show you how to use watercolor paper and you'll even get to take a pack of it home with you!  We'll use some of it in the class but whatever we don't use is yours to keep.  That way after learning how to use it, you can go home inspired to create some more!

I'll also show you how to make these fun new flowers!

DATE:  February 9th (Thursday)
TIME:  6:30 - 9:00pm
COST:  $25 for 6 cards and watercolor paper

(Yes such a low price for all this stuff!  I kept the cost of the class low by using the FREE papers and brads from the Sale-a-bration promotion!  I'm passing the savings on to you.  :-))

Please email me if you would like to sign up!

I only have 5 spots for this class!!

And please remember that it takes me lots of time to design and prepare for classes so once you sign up you are committed unless something crazy happens in your life and then you can cancel up to 24 hrs prior.  Thanks so much for understanding!  Hope to see you soon!

Welcome Winter Canvas

Take a look at this gorgeous Winter Canvas.  After I put all the Christmas stuff away... I missed all the  sparkles!  I mean really, in PG we still have two to four more months of winter to look forward too so it's not like it's over any time soon!  that is when I decided to make this pretty Welcome Winter Canvas.

It's hard to see in the picture but the background is white with irridescent paint.  And there are lots of sparkling mica flakes that give it a shimmer.  The butterflies are sparkly too!  And the three white puff balls around the bow, are actually really neat flowers that I made out of organza and pearl beads.

Let me know if you would like to sign up for this class!

Another note... I decided exactly where this canvas is going in my foyer.  and my plan is to make another one in a couple months that says Welcome Spring.  Then one maybe for summer??  and certainly one for Fall and maybe even Christmas.  This way we'll use the exact same size canvas for each of these projects but you'll always have one that matches the season we are in!

Now if that all sounds like too much, don't worry, there is no obligation to take all these classes.  Take any of them that you like.

I just thought it was a neat idea that once that nail went in the wall in that exact place in my foyer, there would always be a piece of art that I had made hanging there that matches the seasons.

DATE:  January 23 (Monday)
TIME: 6:30 - 9:00pm
COST:  $25

Kids Valentines!!

Yes it's time to get crafting and make those super fun Kids Valentine's!!

This year my kid valentine class is a bit different... the class will be a mom and me class.

I only have seven spots so the first seven to reply get in.

Aren't they so adorable??  Sewing themed papers and quotes!  Plus all that cute pom pom ribbon, buttons, and great stamps.  Sweet!

The kids will make 26 valentine's.  Hopefully you can see the quotes on the pictures.  They are sooo sweet!

The tags are pretty simple so we should be able to get them done in 1.5-2 hrs.  And I'm even providing the candy hearts and bags to complete these adorable valentines!  No running around, no fuss.  Just come on over, make 26 valentine's and have them ready for Feb. 14 to hand out!

Date:  Feb. 5th  (sunday)
Time:  2-4pm
Cost:  $18 for 26 valentine's!

Please email me if you would like a spot in the class.  And please remember that it takes me lots of time to design and prepare for classes so if you sign up you are commited to come.  Thanks so much!

My sweet Trinitee

My sweet Trinitee is not only the apple of my eye and my precious pumpkin doodle... but she is also super creative and talented!  Here are some cards that she made using my new Owl Cricut Cartridge.  Sooo cute!

Hard to believe those cards where made by an 8 year old!!

And she finished this canvas off today as well.  She made this canvas for friends of ours, Jeff and Wendy Hinton.  About a month ago they lost their 8 year old daughter and it's been tough for all of us to deal with.  We met Kallie and her parents when she and Trinitee were in the same class in Kindergarten at Austin Road Elementary School.  Trinitee instantly be-friended this sweet little girl as did the entire class.  Kallie was one of those shining stars of a little girl.  Most often with a smile on her face and dressed in her mom's favorite color, pink.  We loved this little girl dearly.  She had such a special place in our hearts and will forever more.  We all look forward to the day when we will see her dance and jump and do cart wheels in heaven.  We miss you Kallie and we hope you continue to shine your precious love in heaven till we all get there.

The photo is from Trinitee's brithday party last February.  Kallie never missed a party.  :-))

What a wierd month it has been...

New Canvas

Greetings!
Many of you have heard that my Grandma passed away last week.  She was a sweet lady who was almost 80 years old and had suffered with dementia for the last couple years.  It wasn't a shock when she passed and I know she is in the arms of Jesus.  But it is still hard to let someone go... even though I know I will see her again in heaven one day.
Here is a picture of Grandma with Eden about 4 1/2  years ago.  :-))

This last week has been one of reflection and some down time.  I really tried to unplug last             week for a couple extra days and spend some time creating.  Painting and designing really is a               therapy for me as I slow down and unwind.  In that time I made this canvas that I've had brewing in my creative mind for quite some time.
I first stamped words for God all over the canvas, then added soft layers of paint.  I also added some glitter and then made the heart in the center from some pulp paper that I had.  It turned out beautifully and now hangs in my bedroom as a reminder of my sweet Lord and Savior who is with me as my sheild, strength and hope.

In Christ's presence,
Kimi

Tonight

Okay my last post is a quick card I made tonight after the kids were in bed.  Actually I liked this card so much I made four!  I used some adorable papers from Sassafras that my sweet friend Sherry gave me.  I only used a couple of the papers and can't wait to try some more.  :-))  Here is my first card.

okay, it's late!  I gotta get to bed!
Night night,
Kimi

Calypso Coral

Monica was over a couple days ago crafting with me and we decided to challange each other.  I just love doing this!!  The challange was to use the new In Color from Stampin Up called Calypso Coral.  I have to say it's not my favorite color.  Which is why we challenged each other to use it on a card!  I came up with this cute card... and yeah Monica noticed that there isn't much Calypso showing... but hey, I used it!  I also used some plastic packaging that embellishments came in, and alcohol inked them then put the umbrella on top.  Looks cute.  :-)))

Kimi
PS-- I've challenged my two layout club ladies to try and use Calypso Coral on something before our next meeting.  I'm so curious to see what they come up with!
PSS- Calypso Coral is the peachy orange color in behind the navy blue.  :-))

Happy New Year!

Yes happy new year!  I hope and pray that 2012 is a fabulous year for us all!  Especially in the crafting department!

I wanted to share some things I've been working on lately... I had a bit of time over the holidays to create.  Enjoy!
Kimi

With a crumb cake seam binding bow...

with an old olive dots bow.  Which one do you like better?

This is a fun layout I did of our trip to the Edmonton Zoo in June 09.  I just LOVE this paper and embellishments.  I even got to use Monica's new Zoo stamp set from Stampin' Up!!
