Christmas Cards I made today :D

GREETINGS!  Today I hosted my first club this fall!  It was super fun.  Thanks so much ladies for coming and creating with me!

I was inspired and made a few more cards.  Take a look.  :-))

This first card I cut the cardinal from the Tim Holtz Christmas die.  I love it!  I used lots of stains to get a vintage look and love the way the tag turned out in behind... so antique.  :-)

This card is again using the TH Cardinal but instead I put tin tape in behind for a different look.  I also used the Tim Holtz poinsettia die to make the poinsettia and colored it with Fired Brick Stain.  I also love how this turned out!

This card was a scrap lift from a baby card I made with cupcake liners.  I found these Christmas liners and have been wanting to make this card for about a month!  It's super easy and looks cool.  I cut the bottom off the cupcake liner and then use the ruffle part throwing away the round bottom.  I then stick it onto a card base using Sookwang tape.  I do this over and over again in layers with seven cupcake liners to get this effect.  Then I wondered what would happen if I stamped on a coffee filter and heat embossed it?  So I tried it and it turned out so cool!  I heat embossed it with silver powder and then sprayed the whole thing with red glimmer mist.  It looks really neat.

For this card I used my Nativity Dreamweaver Stencil and stuck it to paper that was covered in Sookwang tape.  Then I stuck Gold Leaf on, removed the stencil then put green Glitter Ritz all over the base.  I matted it on black and I just love the effect the gold leaf gives.  :-)

And finally this AWESOME card was made by my sweet and super creative daughter Trinitee!!  she was crafting with me this afternoon and came up with this gorgeous card.  Great job Trin!

Trinee and I hope you are inspired to create something Christmas today as well!
Kimi

PS-- I'm going to be posting info and emailing soon about my OPEN HOUSE weekend coming up at Scrap Therapy!  See you soon.  :D

A few more projects...

A few more projects... :-))) Here is another card using a Dreamweaver stencil for the Nativity scene.  I used the paste on black paper then once the paste was dry I used Tim Holtz stains to color it.  I like the soft effect it gives.  :-)

I took this dollar store wood box, painted it and covered it in rub-ons.  I made the flower with paper and a die cut.  The tulle is Early Espresso from Stampin Up and I love this stuff!
I also used some of my fav paper flowers to finish it off along with some bling.  yeah gotta have bling!

This project took me a while to make.  :-))  It was an old silverware tray from my buffet and when I saw the compartments I knew it had to be turned into a gorgeous tin tape project!  I used lots of bling, jewelry, flowers etc to make this a piece of art to be treasured for years to come.

Hugs,
Kimi

More Christmas Cards

Hi again!

These Christmas Cards were made by taking Crumb Cake card stock and running it through different embossing folders.  Then I sprayed some glimmer mists onto my craft mat, turned the crumb cake paper upside down and smeared it into the wet glimmer on the mat.

Then I added some fun stuff to finish them off.  Sweet.  :-))

Merry Christmas!
Kimi

Dreamweaver Card

Here is a Dreamweaver Card that I missed when I published the others!

This one is using the Dreamweaver stencil and paste along with Gold glitter.  :-))

Kimi   :D

My TIN TAPE Obsession!

The next pictures express my obsession with TIN TAPE!  Yes I love the effect.

On this Card I tin taped a card base then ran it through the Big Shot with the Holly Dreamweaver stencil and it embossed it.  Then I painted it black, wiped it off and added my colored Inka Gold.  The first card is using Red and Olive Inka Gold.

This card base I also ran tin tape through the Big Shot with the Holly stencil but then afterward I painted it pink and rubbed Graphite Inka Gold on top.  I really love these colors together.

For this card I ran the tin tape thru my wood look embossing folder.  Then I painted it black, wiped it off and added the Red and Olive Inka Gold.
The poinsettia is made from coffee filters and the FABULOUS Tim Holtz poinsettia die.  LOVE IT!  Then I sprayed the coffee filters with Red Glimmer Mist to give me gorgeous looking poinsettias.

Same idea but using the Brick embossing folder instead.  :-))

I saw this wonderful plain wood Cardinal at Michaels and knew instantly it needed to be Tin Taped!!!  Again I used the Red and Olive Inka Gold to finish it off.

I hope your inspired to create!  And if your interested in Tin Tape classes... I have a few coming up soon so please email me.

If you'd like to purchase any Inka Gold I have lots of colors and they are $8.50 a pot.

ttyl,
Kimi

I have SOO many Christmas Cards to share!

Thank you first off to all the ladies who came to the RETREAT two weekends ago.  It was SUPER awesome and fun and I'm so thankful for you all!

Scrap Therapy is ALL SET UP IN OUR HOME as a home based studio/store.  So please give me a call anytime you'd like to stop by and go shopping!  I have TONS of great products.  :-)))

I will be hosting an open house in the next couple weeks so I'll keep you posted as to dates for that.

Here are a BUNCH of great Christmas Cards I've come up with lately.  :-))

These first few are using Dreamweaver stencils.  Which I'm in love with!!!!  They are my new passion.  They are so versatile and fun to use.  For the first card I put Sookwang tape on a card base, then attached my stencil.  Next I Gold Leafed the sticky part which you see is gold in the picture.  Then I removed the stencil and sprinkled white glitter on the base sticky card to create this incredible looking card.  So fun!

The next card I taped the Dreamweaver stencil onto the Old Olive card base.  Then using the Dreamweaver paste I spread it out over the stencil.  Then I removed the tape and stencil and sprinkled German Glass glitter all over the wet paste and voila!  Gorgeous effect.

The next couple cards where taken from a sheet of the new Simple Stories Christmas line.  I cut the tags apart and used them on a variety of cards.  I like the look of them.

Have a wonderful day!

The Launch of Scrap Therapy is almost here!

Life has been so crazy busy!  My job has been hectic with fall kick off and lots of planning and preparing going on.  Then add my husband is out of town for two and a half weeks for a training course... I'm starting an online course at Trinity Western University and on top of all that opening SCRAP THERAPY at my Retreat on Oct. 19 & 20!!!  Ok that was my little rant... I'm all right.  I take all these things on so it's completely 100% my own fault.  :-))

I wanted to share with you a new sign I made to hang outside our front door.  :-))

Enjoy this beautiful season!!

One Christmas Card

I saw this cute and simple card idea in the Holiday catalog from Stampin Up (pg 14) so I totally scraplifted it and made my own!  I bought the Snowflake die and just love it.  It's hard to find a nice die that will cut snowflakes really well and this one is awesome.

Autumn Cards

With the fall colors bursting forth every time I go outside I just had to make some fall cards!

Awake My Soul and Sing

A couple weeks ago I drove to Chetwynd to meet my mom.  We were switching grandkids and Chetwynd is half way between PG and Grande Prairie where my parents live most of the time.  On my drive home I was awe struck by the lush green mountainous hills and leaves that were just starting to turn brilliant shades of yellow and orange.  The sun was starting to set and the air looked pink.  I was singing one of my favorite songs on the top of my lungs called 'Awakening' by Chris Tomlin.  In the song he says... Awake my soul and sing.  I just love that.  When I came home I started immediately on my canvas and came up with this fun piece of art.

I hope you too are inspired by nature around us to create using all the colors God has in His pencil box!

Cards for Shabby Tea Room

Okay so the Shabby Tea Room is a site I often go to for inspiration and they were having a designer contest that ended on Sept. 2nd.  And I really wanted to enter it.  So I made these two cards... and then got so busy getting ready to go camping for the long weekend I forgot to enter these into the Shabby Tea Room contest!  But I thought I'd show you what I came up with.  Maybe next time for the contest... :-)

Sing Sweet Beautiful Happy Girl

This is Trinitee's 9th Birthday layout!  I usually take a couple hundred pictures at my kids birthdays and this one was no exception!  I had a hard time picking pictures, but slimmed it down to 22!  When I have that many photos I like to make a mini book and attach it to the page.  This time I stitched the mini book on with my sewing machine.  It turned out great!

The frame around Trinitee on the right side was a wood cut out ornament I found in the Christmas isle at Michael's.  I sprayed it with turquoise glimmer mist and voila!  Beautiful!

Kimi

Hiking Jasper

I love the photos in this layout!  You know the saying that a photo is worth a thousand words... well these photos certainly say a lot of words!  I love to be outside and in God's gorgeous creation and just loved being in Jasper.  These pictures really tell a story.

Melanie's layout from "You're my Inspiration"

Hey so I'm posting a layout that Melanie did at one of my monthly clubs.

Melanie belongs to my 6 for 6 layout club were all the ladies do a layout each month based on my sample.  This month we were doing the layout called "You're my Inspiration" and I was teaching them how to make these cool coffee filter flowers, rough the papers up to make them look vintage and do some painting and stamping.  Melanie brought her finished layout the other night to our club and this is the amazing layout she finished off!  Isn't it gorgeous!?!  I'm so thrilled with how it turned out.  Great job Mel!

Bright and Cheery cards

I love this color combo with the Stampin Up Pool Party cardstock as my base, then Wild Wasabi pleated ribbon and peach and yellow printed papers.  I've come to find that no matter what printed papers I have, from whatever company... I can always match them up to one of the Stampin Up cardstocks!  It's pretty cool.  These were pretty quick and easy cards to make using lots of the premade embellies from K & Co.

Hugs,  Kimi

More cards from the Prima papers

Here are a few more cards I made with the left over Prima Papers from my Cherished Memories layout.  I am just loving the peach and black color combo!!
