I'm Lovin' These Premade Cards!

Hi again!

I'm just lovin' these premade card bases from My Minds Eye.  I'm having so much fun adding to them!  And with the base print already there, it seems to make everything go quicker.  I made 8 cards yesterday!  And today... well I cleaned the girls room, my ensuite and purged the playroom, so I only got one card done tonight.  It was my reward for all the hard work today!

I made four each of these two cards.  :-))

And only one of this one.  I do like the sketch and might have to try this one again!

I better get to bed.  Noah starts his hockey tournament tomorrow bright and early!  Ohh it's going to be hard getting out of bed when I've been up late all week crafting!!

Pre-made card bases

When I was in White Rock a couple months ago Heather and I bought these pre made card bases done up from My Minds Eye.  The prints are so pretty!  I finally got inspired to add to them!  I pulled out some old Basic Grey die cuts, some old paper flowers that I haven't used in ages and some new Mini Buttons and colored buttons from Stampin Up.

And take a look at the new pleated ribbon from Stampin Up!
The card above has Cherry Cobbler.  :-))  ohh I love it!

The cards are all pretty simple and didn't take too much time to throw together.  Plus I LOVE it when I use up old stuff from my stash!  That makes room for new stuff!  heheh...

Hugs,
Kimi

Cards, cards, beautiful cards!!

Yip I've been making cards!

Dwayne and I went to see Sherlock Holmes the other night, which I would totally recommend this movie by the way, we both thought it was great!  And as we watched the credits roll, they had made all the pictures and text look antique and vintage and sooo inspiring!

I came home and made these cards.  I 'soot stamped' the red paper and the vintage labels tag that I punched out.  Soot stamping is when you gently rub your paper upside down over a lit candle.  It blackens the paper and did exactly what I wanted.  I am going for vintage!  Then I paired it with some picture stickers from Tim Holtz, some red flowers I made out of a napkin, and gotta have ribbon to finish it off!

Doesn't the girl in this card above look like Jill!!
Dwayne and I both thought so.

Merry Christmas!

Cards

I recieved a bunch of NEW things from my pre-order with the new Stampin Up Mini catalogue that comes out in January.  I just LOVE love love the new die cutters -- they are called Framelits and this set is called the Labels Collection.  It works awesome with the Big Shot or Cuddlebug.  :-)))  I also recieved the stamp set called "Apothecary Art" and I love it as well!  I was trying to use up some old chipbaord supplies I had and some other embellies I wanted to clear out.  I paired it with this fun paper from The Paper Girls and came up with these fun cards.  So pretty!

Blessings,

Layouts

One of the great perks I'm finding from my two 8 for 8 layout clubs is that I'm getting lots of layouts done!  I like to have a layout ready to demo to the ladies as I teach them... it helps them visualize what I'm talking about and gives me a sample to try my techniques on.  Plus... I get some extra layouts done!  I think I'm only about a year and a half behind... okay maybe two years.  But I have jumped around a bit to fit the right pictures with the layout I'm demo'ing.

This layout was inspired from the "Hello Wonderful World" layout I did in Nov for my Group A.

This layout is also from the "Hello Wonderful World" sketch but I tweeked it a bit for my Group B which we did in December.  And yip, one cool layout!

This layout is scraplifted from my "Whoo's Cute" layout that I did in December for my Group A.  The dots on the background are actually candle wax that I dripped all over the page.  It looks super awesome!

Merry Christmas!

Inspired by May Belle

Okay so May Belle is such a creative amazing crafter!  I love her designs, they are so fun and cute... hey just like her!

May Belle was over a while ago and she showed me this cool slider card that has a changing picture in the circle window when you slide the card open.  So I tried and tried and tried and had such a tough time making these cards!!  It wasn't the fun stuff on the front... it was the measuring and punching and figuring out exactly where that window needs to be.  Trust me, even with the sample she left me, I wasted a lot of paper!

Trinitee even said to me at one point... "I guess this is May Belle's thing (the foldy funky cards) and not yours."  Yes my daughter!!!  Okay yeah she's right.  Give me glitter and swirls and glimmer mist and vintage and I'm in.  but all this brain power to figure out a window cards... yeah it's not my thing.

But I persisited and came up with this card.  The pictures aren't great at showing what it really does, so you'll have to come over some time and I'll show it too you.  :-)))

See how the orange window picture changed... cool hey!?

A Sounding Joy

I just LOVE this stamp set called 'A Sounding Joy' from Stampin' Up.  I love the star and words and how they are double stamped in different colors to compliment each other.  I also used the Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, cardstock and embossing powder to make this card pop.  Enjoy!
